Great turnout for the 2017 Flogas Pro-Am

A sunny afternoon of golf was enjoyed by over 100 participants in the 2017 Flogas/PGA Pro-Am at Portmarnock Hotel and Golf Links on Monday 29th May.   Following the dinner, John Rooney, managing director of Flogas Ireland, handed out congratulations and prizes to the various winners. The winning team was Brian Doheny (Callan GC) with Sean Brett, Niall Lord Snr and Niall Lord Jnr with 87 points. The winning professional was David Higgins of Waterville Links, finishing one shot ahead of Damien McGrane and Tim Rice.  The runner up team with 85 points was Simon Thornton (Simon Thornton Golf), John Mooney, Niall Woods and Conor Kelly. Third place with 83 points went to golf pro Philip Walton, Gary Murphy, Andy Hickey and Dwyer McCaughley.  In fourth place was Mark O’Sullivan (Piltown Driving Range) with Martin Forde, Fintan Hogan and James Henderson with fifth place going to Hazel Kavanagh (Carr Golf Centre at Spawell), Aisling Rooney, William Kirby and Pat Keogh. The Nearest the Pin prize went to Maurice Bergin, Bill Brown won the Longest Men’s Drive and the Longest Ladies Drive was won by Maria McNamara.
