With a crowd of thousands cheering him on, Monalee was the thrilling winner of the Grade 1 Flogas Novice Chase on Sunday 11 February 2018 at the Dublin Racing Festival in Leopardstown, Co. Dublin.

Owned by Barry Maloney and ridden by Noel Fehily, the seven-year-old made all the running and justified strong market support to win at 11-4 (joint favourite). Despite a wall of horses breathing down his neck at the last jump, he kept them all at bay to cross the finishing line in first place.

His trainer Henry De Bromhead was over the moon with his win and now has Cheltenham in his sights.

“Delighted, absolutely delighted. He jumped brilliant and Noel was fantastic on him, so we’ll rock on to Cheltenham now.”

John Rooney, managing director, Flogas Ireland, said:

“Fantastic day, all the races were electric to watch and well done to the team at Leopardstown Racecourse for yet another successful event that gets better each year.”
