Your Natural Gas Bill Explained
We want to make it easy for you to understand your bill.
Your gas bill contains important information about your account, how much energy you’ve used, and how your charges are calculated.
At Flogas Natural Gas, we want to make it easy for you to understand your bill.
At the top of your bill, you’ll find your key account details, including:
- Your name and address – Where the gas supply is registered.
- SMPN – unique number registered to your address.
- Account number – Please have this handy if you contact us.
- Billing period – The dates showing the start and end of the time your bill covers.
- Bill Summary – Overview of your payments, balance before bill, standing charges, total usage for this period, VAT, total charges incl. VAT and payments for this period.
Your Bill Explained
This section gives a quick overview of your bill.

- Debit or credit section: CR=Credit and DR = Debit.
- VAT Update explained.
- Total cost of usage. Total payments & Balance due.
Tariff Information
Your current Tariff. Unit Price (Including VAT) - This shows how we’ve calculated your usage:
Previous reading and current reading – The numbers on your meter at the start and end of the billing period.
- A = actual reading
- E = estimated
- CR = Customer Read
- Gas used (kWh) – The difference between the two readings shows how many units (kilowatt hours) you’ve used.
Your Tariff and Unit Rates
This explains the rate you pay for gas:
- Tariff code – The plan you’re on (e.g., New Fixed Gas or Renews Fixed Gas).
- Unit rate (pence per kWh) – The cost for each unit of gas you use.
Payment Details
This section explains how to pay your bill and when:
- Payment method – e.g., Direct Debit, card payment, or Pay As You Go.
- Payment due date – When the payment will be taken or is required.

At the top of your bill, you’ll often find:
Contact details – How to reach us if you have a question about your bill or need support.
