Flogas sponsors Hot Glass Divas at Jerpoint

Glass artists Karen Donnellan and Catherine Keenan were two of the eight ‘Divas’ who took part in the Flogas-sponsored Hot Glass Divas Exhibition at Jerpoint Glass Studios in Kilkenny in August 2011.

The Exhibition was held as part of the Kilkenny Arts Festival. At the studios, the artists staged a series of demonstrations on glassblowing techniques and a range of their innovative hot glass pieces including sculpture, free forms and vessels were showcased in the adjacent Glass Attic Gallery.   The event attracted a great deal of attention with coverage in all the main media.

“Glassblowing is traditionally seen as a male profession but our eight ‘Divas’ have certainly turned this perception on its head with their innovative and leading edge designs.  This was a very exciting event and we were delighted to have Flogas as our sponsors,” said Kathleen Leadbetter of Jerpoint Glass.
